Training and workforce development
This section gives information on those services across Northern Ireland who are able to provide drug and alcohol training courses and programmes (many of which are no cost or low cost to attend) for those wishing to improve their knowledge and/or skills in addressing drug and alcohol issues within their organisation, community and/or with their clients.
Training for those working with children, young people and families in how to use Steps2Cope materials and resources with their clients to increase their confidence and resilience in living with and dealing parental substance misuse
The app is available for download on both Apple and Android mobile devices and has been developed in partnership with QUB and PHA
Training available on drug and alcohol related topics for those working in the homeless sector
Accredited OCN level 1 and 2 drug and alcohol awareness, training for trainers (1 to 12 weeks), intervention and prevention programmes, health days and one-off information sessions
A number of drug and alcohol courses available including a Level 2 Award in Understanding Substance Misuse, a Level 3 Substance Misuse course and a Foundation Degree (3 years) in Responding to Alcohol & Drug Misuse
Training available for the community and voluntary sector on a wide range of drug and alcohol topics and for workplaces in relation to policies and procedures for managing substance misuse within the workplace
Line Management Training to enable those with supervisory responsibility to recognise the impact of alcohol related harm on the individual and the workplace - participants learn how to have an initial conversation about alcohol related issues, and how to proactively address alcohol related harm
Via the Think Drink 55 Plus project CRUN can provide alcohol training sessions to a wide range of community and statutory groups
