The SEDACT Connections Service (hosted in South Eastern area by ASCERT) acts as the operational arm of the South Eastern Drug and Alcohol Coordination Team (SEDACT); assisting the Team to take forward its priority actions and to work with other stakeholder organisations and partnerships in the area to develop and deliver drug and/or alcohol related projects, events and initiatives. The Connections workers can be contacted by individuals or groups in the community who have concerns or queries in regards alcohol/ other drug initiatives and services. As well as supporting and developing local campaigns, the Connections service are a source of information and best practice and keep communities up to date on recent trends as well as developing responses to issues. SE Connections also makes links between the community and drug/alcohol sectors and other fields such as family support and mental health, and can signpost inidividuals to the relevant services when required.

Al-Anon is specifically is for families of alcoholics who meet to share their experiences of having, or having had, a problem drinker in their lives - you can call the head office to find out about a family support group meeting close to you

Alateen is part of Al-Anon and is specifically is for teenage relatives and friends of alcoholics (aged 12-17) who meet to share their experiences of having, or having had, a problem drinker in their lives - you can call the head office to find out about an Alateen meeting close to you

NA is a fellowship of men and women who come together once or twice a week to share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem with drugs (street drugs or prescribed) - group meetings take place regularly across NI - you can search the website or call the info line number to find out about one taking place close to you

Lifeline is the Northern Ireland 24/7 crisis response helpline service for people who are experiencing distress or despair - you will receive immediate help on the phone and should you need further support we can provide a face-to-face counselling appointment in your local area within seven days

Drop in service for chronic drinkers in the North Down and Ards area offering basic care, housing and crisis support

Low Threshold Service aimed at those who misuse alcohol and drugs at harmful levels and/or in harmful ways but who are unable to commit to formal treatment - the service works with clients who may lead chaotic lives and need assistance to reduce serious harm to themselves, arising from their problematic drug or alcohol use
