This section gives information on drug and alcohol treatment and support services available across Northern Ireland. There are a wide range of services available from short term extended brief interventions to more longer term community based or residential based one to one therapeutic treatment services. There are also services which offer ongoing recovery focussed group support, services which offer advice and support for your wider needs such as housing and ‘low threshold’ services specifically set up for those not yet ready or able to engage with mainstream or longer term treatment services.

NSES is a completely confidential service that provides free sterile injecting equipment to injecting drug users (of any type i.e. illegal opioids or stimulants, steroids or tanning solutions), alongside health promotion information or advice - the services can then safely dispose of any used injecting equipment on your return visit

The Extern Street Injectors Support Service (SISS) uses experienced staff to engage with street injectors in Belfast and to collect and dispose of inappropriately discarded injecting equipment.
The hours of this service are varied, including evenings and weekends, and it provides a vital link to vulnerable drug users by assisting with access to temporary accommodation and healthcare services.
